MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR Jerry Eller's 2012 Christmas Card Once again I have been unbelievably blessed and had another amazing year! Thought I would post the 4 pics that didn't occur in last years card even though they were 2011! ;)
Just like last years card I have to start with January, skiing and Denver Nugget basketball of course. This last ski season was one of the worst on record and this new year isn't off to a better start so pray for snow and lots of it but Merry Christmas anyway!
Can't ever have enough pics of yourself in Vail! ;) And although it looks like June behind me instead of April 1st, Tony Stewart and my first time back to Crested Butte in years never disappoints!
Drinking bloody mary's on the deck of the Paradise Warming Hut, the old place I used to work at flipping burgers in the 80's in Crested Butte CO and hooking up with my boy Justin, the King of Breckenridge and Bejeweled Blitz, for the first time in a few years!
Just like the skiing disappointed, the Nuggets did as well :( they still have the hottest fans in the country so had to get a pic with my dear friend Alison and her friend.
I thought I had a few weeks of skiing left but had to take this last picture of the ski year at Breckenridge in April. :( Was about 20 degrees at 12,000 ft when this was taken and in the50's where that brown patch is over the left of my shoulder, what a difference 3,000ft makes! At the beginning of the year I had not seen my BFFF (best female friend forever ;) Stephanie in forever so went to Seattle to visit her and her awesome sons!
Love Seattle, the Space Needle, Snoqualmie Falls, the Fremont Troll and got to see R2d2 at the Museum of Flight. Also headed up the Oregon Coast and visited Ft Clatsop for the first time where Lewis and Clark spent the winter of 1805-06.
Seattle
Oregon Coast & Astoria
Also got to see my long time friend and accountant Brian, so if you need some help with your finances let me know and I know my other dear friend who is also an accountant, Robert, will be seeing this card as well so I can hook you up with him too! ;) Also while in Seattle I had the great fortune to see a long time family friend Mark who has been unfairly inflicted with MS, however he remains to be one of the most optimistic, caring and loving men I have ever been graced by.
Had to have a beer at my favorite bar in Seattle Tini Bigs and no I wasn't driving the kids afterwards!
The only time the sun came out for 5 minutes!
Got to see some awesome concerts in 2012, the first being in Kansas City for another Rockfest with Slash, Shinedown and others, also my buddy TJ and his son seemed to enjoy themselves, you'll have to figure out which one is dad! ;)
Not even a month later went to see one of my all time favorites for the second time, Van Halen in Denver with my awesome friend Laura Lee.
Spring of course always brings me back to Coors Field and Opening Day! Was fortunate enough to go with one of my dearest girl friends Danielle and Alison, once again proving the Rockies have the hottest fans in the country! Also got to enjoy a few other games over the summer with Alison's fun friends.
My lifelong buddy Jon and I got a game in, as well as my buddy Scott.
Just before Todd Helton hit the game winning home run in a sleet storm in April!
The hi-lite of the season had to be Jamie Moyer becoming the oldest person ever to win a Major League baseball game and seeing Chipper Jones play for the last time ever at Coors Field.
For my birthday the Rockies gave me a Todd Helton t-shirt and I still don't know why 10,000 other people got one too??? Even though they were terrible and the last night home game of the year was dreary, wet and cold, they still have the hottest fans in the country and had to get a pic with a few of them! ;)
During the summer I had the awesome privilege of seeing Gary Sinise and the LT Dan Band. Was one of the best concerts I ever saw in my life and if you have never seen them I highly encourage and recommend you do. Sadly this was the worst fire in Colorado history near Ft Collins...until this one below in Colorado Springs. Can't explain to anyone how this made me feel since I consider Colorado Springs my 2nd hometown and used to hike in Waldo Canyon and drive up and down Rampart Reservoir Road all the time. :( This is from the day it started by Santa's Workshop at the base of Pikes Peak. This is day 3 I-25 and the Air Force Academy and Fillmore and I-25. Day 5 or so at the USAFA and the aftermath that followed. Entrance to Flying W Ranch
As horrid and hot the summer was, still had fun and a good time on the boat.
Had some amazing sunsets over the year and my supermodel friend Holly loved this picture I took of her so much had to show it off!
Found a new lure that I just killed it with this year! Snagged into one of the nicest large mouth's I ever caught in Pueblo and of course had to post the last fish of the season I caught instead because that was the only pic I got. ;(
Over the summer I got to hook up with a few friends from high school, got to see Chris a few years back and had the awesome honor to see him again this summer, our mutual friend Ron was there as well!
My cousin-in-law Tom had a big birthday bash as well! Got to see my long lost friend from high school, Sherry, who I hadn't seen in over 25 years and her nephew Brendan again in Lake Tahoe.
Shook hands with Jamie Moyer and Joe Sakic (huge Loverboy fans) and took a pic with baseball slugger great Gary Sheffield.
Don't tell TMZ or Jessica Simpson but I also hit a few golf balls with Tony Romo and though I don't have any pictures or anything, let's just say he lost and should stick to football. ;) On the way back from Tahoe I had never been to Crawford Colorado so had to stop by and check it out, gorgeous...
had the amazing privilege to run into a mom and her twins!
Got to sit on a rock above the Broadmoor for a few in Cheyenne Canyon and had to baby sit my two little nephews Bronco and Nugget. Don't tell their mom and dad that they had special treats and stayed out all night!
My Baltimore Orioles were having an amazing year and I knew it was Cal Ripken night in September so had to go out and get my replica statue and see em beat the Yankee's!
I had never been to Ocean City before so spent a night there and visited the US Naval Academy for the first time.
Since I knew I was going to be out East I had to go to the NFL opener in New York where my Cowboys beat the Giants!
And had to go see the 911 Memorial as well as meet up with my ski buddy from the University of Vermont ski team, Manjari, who lives in the city.
Like I said earlier, we had some amazing sunsets this year, this is one of them in November over Pikes Peak.
And this is one a few weeks later near Cotopaxi on the Arkansas River and over the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. All the following pics are from the same sunset.
Fall always means hunting season...and who says animals can't read?
Pikes Peak
Lucky for me I found one that couldn't! ;) In March I got to meet my great niece and nephew for the first time and they missed me so much they came for Thanksgiving!
Took my niece fishing and she caught her first fish ever! In the fall my dear friend Christine had a brush with death and has been given another chance. I, Lisa, Alycia, her parents and others had the chance to celebrate her birthday in recent weeks, twice! :)
Now for some shameless self promotion, in October I finally had my trial against Trans Union after filing my 3rd lawsuit against them in January of 2009. I foolishly represented myself since the 6 previous lawyers before me couldn't get my credit report straight I figured I had nothing to lose, well I did. I have retained counsel and am appealing. I am urging you to purchase my book for yourself and others so that I can help finance my appeal and to get my story exposed and revealed to the general public. Click on the book or any of the other pics and it will take you to my website and you can gather more information, thank you. And finally to the reason for the season, regardless of my future and what happens to me or us, all the priceless memories and treasures I have received this year and before, are all owed to Him and only Him. Accept His gift of eternal life, joy and happiness and celebrate His birth not only this Sunday but every day! Since the death of my brother and my father I have always wanted to memorialize them in some kind of way so for all my family members I have created this link. Almost 40 years ago we sent out a family Christmas Card, all you have to do is click on it and this is my gift to all of my Family! God Bless, Merry Christmas and may you and yours have a very happy, healthy and prosperous New Year! Love, Jerry |
